The Department of Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism Management at Oxford Brookes University is offering a number of studentships to exceptional candidates seeking to study for a PhD starting in September 2011.
These full-time studentships, which include a commitment of seminar teaching to undergraduate students, will be for 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress. The starting bursary will be £20,000 per annum, plus student fees.
The Studentships are available for students seeking to undertake research in the following areas:
- Internationalisation of hospitality and tourism firms;
- Managing the Strategic Risks of Hospitality and Tourism firms' Internationalisation;
- Sustainable tourism development in emerging economies;

Applicants should have a good Honours degree and in addition a good Master's degree at merit level and above that includes a thesis component.
Applicants will need to complete the Research Degree Application Form (see link below) and produce a research proposal of not more than 2,000 words using the guidelines suggested. Applicants should also provide two academic references and full transcripts relating to their previous degree studies.

International students should have an IELTS score of at least 7.0 (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate previous university-level study in an English-speaking country.
